Hey friends! My favorite season of the year is coming: Fall. It’s the season where the weather cools down, the leaves get all colorful, and there’s an atmosphere of creepiness which I like a lot. I’m done with hot weather, so now I can wear sweaters and leather jackets without my internal temperature going through the freaking roof. So in anticipation for fall, here are a few things that I think are exceptionally better than most things.
1) Tarte Liquid Eyeliner
Yes, I’m writing about an actual make-up product. No, I am not anywhere near the flawlessness of a beauty guru. I’ve recently started to wear liquid eyeliner and this one stays on all day to maintain my facade of looking put together. I’m still working on getting that “eyeliner wing so sharp it can literally stab you” technique, but I’ll get it one day.
2) Postmodern Jukebox (https://www.youtube.com/user/ScottBradleeLovesYa)
PMJ is a YouTube channel that makes covers of newer pop songs and transforms them to how they would be sung in a vintage type of way. They do covers from every decade’s unique style of music. My favorites are the R&B/Soul New Orleans type where I feel like I’m in an old, smoky club (even though I hate smoking?) listening to singers and instrumentals that haven’t been severely autotuned.
Best Covers:
The White Stripes – Seven Nation Army
3) Morgan James (https://www.youtube.com/user/morganjamesonline)
Morgan James is my favorite singer at the moment and she has the most amazing voice I’ve heard. I found her through Postmodern Jukebox and I can’t stop listening to her. Here are some links to songs she has done so you can hear for yourself.
Sam Smith – I’m Not The Only One
4) Criminal Minds
Criminal Minds has quickly become one of my favorite shows! Many of my friends started watching this series before me and have raved about it VERY passionately. I gave in and realized that it wasn’t a CSI type of show where they only solve crimes. I really like the character development and the stories that go with them. The 11th season is starting in September, so I have a lot of catching up to do.
5) Parks and Recreation
Amy Poehler is hilarious in any situation and so is the entire cast of Parks and Rec. I don’t usually go for comedy shows, but this is easily my #1 choice. Plus, my personality is a real life April Ludgate. I’m not kidding.
