NYC Day 1 – Shopping & The Best Steak Ever

Hey friends! I recently took a trip to one of the fashion and food capitals of the world: New York City. I go to NYC about once or twice a year, but this is the trip that definitely made me realize that I’m a city person. The first day of the trip, I went to SoHo to shop like any self-respecting tourist would. I’m thankful for technology because with my sensory overload anxiousness and poor sense of direction I would have been lost.

I think I like the city because there are so many things to do. That way I don’t get lost in my thoughts so much that I have an existential crisis. I walked by three sidewalk cafes in a row, and I wanted to go into every one of them! Unique little cafes with good food are basically my kryptonite. But by the time that I got into the two floor H&M, I needed to take a breather because I was quite overwhelmed (my sensory overload + excitement = not a calming experience). When the security guard saw me he probably thought I looked like a wide-eyed goldfish gasping for air.

I ended the day with going to my favorite steakhouse in New York: Peter Lugar’s Steakhouse. It’s an old, classic restaurant and I like it because it’s very casual. The steaks are the best you will ever have. Just sayin’.
