5 Wicked Cool Things (December)

Hey friends! The end of 2015 is here and it’s kind of terrifying. It has basically been a huge blur to me. I do one of these 5 Wicked Cool Things every month. They seem slow at the time, but these posts have always approached so fast. Maybe that’s why I keep posting them late into the next month. Yep, that’s admittedly my fault.

1) The Complete Tales & Poems of Edgar Allen Poe

I received this beautiful complete collection of works by Edgar Allan Poe for my birthday. He is one of my favorite writers and to have all of his poems and stories is really great. Plus, it’s the most beautiful book I’ve ever seen.

2) Joy (Directed by David O. Russell)

I went to watch Joy in theaters and really liked it. I liked how the movie was inspiring, but not the corny type of inspiring. The film is about strong women (Joy Mangano in particular) and never to give up on hard work. It inspires the ability to overcome obstacles, but to still reach what others say you can’t.

3) Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice

The number of dark lipsticks I have are climbing steadily (even if some of them look pretty similar). However, this shade is kind of understated and bold at the same time. “Understated bold” is basically just another way of saying that it doesn’t completely intimidate other humans…and some small animals.

4) NYX Lipliner in Mauve

I never really used lipliner before because it felt weird to draw on my lips with what is essentially a glorified colored pencil. But I soon realized that it would help me to not look like a scary clown with lip stuff smudged all over my face. Oh, and the color of this is really nice too. Very mauve-y.

5) Adele 25

Adele’s music is freaking amazing and she herself is a hilarious human being. I would really like to see her live one day, but for now I’ll settle for listening to her new album on repeat.
